Castrol Magna™ CTX 220 – High-Quality Circulating Oil

Description: Castrol Magna™ CTX 220 is a circulating oil formulated from high-quality base oils and performance-enhancing additives. The Magna CTX range features high film strength, anti-rust, anti-wear, anti-scuffing, anti-oxidation, and excellent water separation properties.

Application: Magna CTX circulating oil is designed for use in MORGOIL™ bearing systems of roll-neck bearings manufactured by Primetal (Morgan Construction Company), Danieli, SMS Demag, and others. This oil meets or exceeds the standards:

  • Primetal standard (formerly Morgan Construction Company), revision 1.1 (27/01/2005)
  • Danieli standard N. 0.000.001 – revision 15
  • SMS X-Roll® bearing lubrication standard SN 180-3 (April 2016)

Magna CTX 100 is recommended for high-speed no-twist rod mills with a circulating lubrication system. In no-twist rod mills using two lubrication systems, higher viscosity oil is used for low-speed roughing stands and lower viscosity oil is used for high-speed finishing stands. The high viscosity oils in this range are also suitable for lubricating paper machines due to their excellent thermal/oxidation stability, anti-rust properties, water separation, and anti-wear/scuffing performance. In this application, the oil will lubricate gears and bearings for most lubrication points, including dryer section bearings. Magna CTX is also suitable for bearing lubrication systems in primary mills and smaller mills.
